If You're In Network Marketing: Don't Take It Personally
Sunday, September 14, 2008 at 01:38PM In the network marketing industry there are a lot of unfounded negative connotations applied to those involved in it.
I just wanted to share something briefly to all of you out there involved in network marketing. Develop a "thick skin" and don't take things personally.
This is often easier said than done but it's very important. The reason I bring this up is that I recently had a problem with an Autoresponder company. I'd love to name it but I won't as "bad publicicity is good publicity".
My experience is that they have decided to suspend and cancel accounts of people who promote network marketing. That's it! Just a personal issue on their part. Now, after my anger became less and less I was able to separate myself from their opinion and simply left and joined an autoresponder company that supports this great MLM industry. I will name this company and its OPRIUS.
As you develop in your business you will run into situations like this and you just have to blow them off. People are entitled to their opinions even if we don't feel the same way.
Just like they say that in most network marketing training: they aren't saying no to you, just your opportunity.
In this case, it wasn't about me or anything I had done, it was just a deffernce of opinion.
So, as I said in the beginning, don't take things personally. Just move forward and keep your goals in front of you keep moving.

It's been my experience that most of the network marketing negativity comes from not having sufficient knowledge of the industry. That does not mean that everyone who does not want to participate does not know enough about it. I have talked to some who after learning about a particular business have said thanks but no thanks. There is nothing negative about that. It's the people who won't take the time to listen that usually are the ones generating the negaive vibes. So I say let them go. They are probably not good listerners and would not have much success as a result. From the standpoint of a business not wanting to do business with network marketers, I think the same rules apply. They just don't know what they are saying no to.
Susan, You are so right. I appreciate your insight and thanks for sharing.
