"Every journey begins with the first step".I wish I knew who to give credit for this quote but I simply  don't remember.

What is important are the words and I have found them to be so very true throughout my life, especially in network marketing.

A bit over 10 years ago I read about a product that was brand new to the market. As a nurse I was interested in prevention more than cure so I investigated it.   When I called the person who provided the information I realized it was network marketing or MLM and promptly hung up on the guy.

Now, I'm not usually so rude but I was struck by such fear of catching the dreaded MLM disease that I couldn't help but hang up.  Over the next couple of weeks I just couldn't shake the thoughts about the product, not the business, so I eventually called him back, went through a few more issues ( I hung up again..politely) and then ultimately I convinced myself that I needed to check this product out some more and give it a go myself, so I signed up. I convinced myself, this poor gut didn't have to do much other than suffer my hang-ups.

The first six months in the business were great. I didn't know what I was doing but I had some family sign up and some customers who were actually patients of mine who were interested in what this product had to offer. Although the results were great for those who used it, my sign ups weren't happening. I was lost.

My sponsor into this network marketing business came to see me. He lived in another state and I didn't know him from a hill of beans, but he was kind enough to come and try to help. Boy, this was a shocker. Every bad thing that could be said for network marketers was right there in front of me. We went to a popular tourist attraction, and he promptly went around and started to prospect them right on the spot. I was so embarrassed I walked away. The end result was terror and fear coursing through my body to the point that I think I cried for a t least a week. I was in such despair that I would never be able to do this if I had to approach people like he was trying unsuccessfully to teach me.

What worked for me in the long run was my passion for the product, (and now a significant product line)its effectiveness and the company. That is what held me together and I'm glad it did because in my own stumbling and mistakes I managed to build a reasonably successful business and help an enormous number of people along the way, both with their health as well as financial situations.

I could have given up years ago but early on I did my due diligence and realized that MLM or network marketing is really a brilliant business model and a way to provide a substantial income for years to come. I did however, feel like a bit of a failure because I just didn't seem as good at it as the top earners. I persevered and am glad I did.

One day I came along The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing by Ann Seig.  At first I was almost afraid to read it for fear it was going to tell me what an idiot I've been  but I am so grateful that I read it because I know at that moment that I wasn't alone, that I wasn't a failure and that I was right to be involved. I learned so much and immediately felt a new spark inside.

I've read it a number of times and this then led me to the The Renegade Network Marketer  which goes into more depth and taught me how to get started using the internet to actually ATTRACT prospects to me and to earn money along the way. What a blessed relief!

I have always been interested in educating myself so I can be the best I can be at whatever it is I get involved in. For this reason I enrolled in The Renegade University.

My journey in Attraction Network Marketing is exciting and full of promise not just for myself, but for everyone who has the desire to not just be the best but be at the top of their game.

Time for a bit of a follow up.

I continue to be with my MLM company and support it totally.

I"m very active with the Renegade University and continue to be blown away with everything that is presented in the tutorials and webinars. It's so awesome it almost makes me speechless.

I've never been a selfish person in the true sense of the word but have been protective I'd say , of myself and what I "put out there". But thanks to Mike Klingler and  the team at Renegade University I have learned so much more about "giving" in the world of the internet and not to be frightened as I was. I doubt this all makes sense to some but it's an empowering feeling.

There's a lot of work to do and a lot of effort to put into becoming "an overnight success", which we all wish we could be.

Don't be discouraged but rather be "encouraged" to do whatever you can to create something worth putting your name to.
The dividends will continue to pay in the years to come when you believe in yourself to be the best you can at what you do.
